Hale Gardens Tennis Club News story

Come and play in the "All Generations Doubles" Tournament on Sunday 16 June (afternoon).

24 May 2019

Dear All

Some important dates for your diaries.

Firstly the afternoon of Sunday 16 June.  Some of you may have already met Malcolm and Tricia Sidwell, who joined the club earlier this year following a move to the area.  Malcolm is a coach and referee and he has offered to run a number of one day tournaments (juniors and adults) at the club. James and all the committee are very much in support of this initiative.   On the attachment you will find details of the “All Generations Doubles” event Malcolm is running on Sunday 16 June from 1.45 to 5.15pm.  It is an opportunity for adult players of all standards and any junior over 10 to participate.  Can I please encourage you all to take part as it looks to be a fun, original and interesting format.   We know there is a men’s league match on in the morning which we anticipate will be finished by the start of the tournament.  We are also aware it is Father’s Day but what better time to give the dads and their children an opportunity to be on court together?

Secondly, Saturday 9 June from 11am till 5pm.  New Milton Rugby Club is holding its annual fun day on this date and once again have invited all sports clubs in the area to be involved.  James will be arranging the tennis activities, hopefully over two full sized tennis courts.  However, we do need volunteers to man the desk and to help James and Rob on the day on court.  We are intending to have the organised activities spread over three alternate hours (ie 11:00 – 12:00; 13:00 to 14:00 and 15:00 to 16:00).  This will mean everyone gets a break and it is not a continuous stream of activity.   Please let James or myself know if you can help in anyway please.  An hour on the desk or an hour on one of the courts would be very much appreciated.  If you’ve not been to the fun day before, it is well worth a visit and you’ll find plenty for youngsters particularly to do (and plenty of stalls for the parents too!).

Thirdly, a heads up that Emma Morgan will be having another “Tropic Skincare” event at the club on the morning of Friday 14th June (after cardio) and is once again very kindly donating a percentage of the profits from sales that day to the club.  Please come along and see the wonderful range of products available.

We look forward to seeing as many of you as we can at the above events and don’t forget the wine tasting evening next Wednesday, 29 May from 7pm onwards.

Kind regards and best wishes

Catherine, Club Secretary
