Firstly, a very big thank you to the 113 members who opted in to the ballot – by doing so you collectively helped us secure 18 pairs of tickets.
Secondly, and as mentioned in a recent communication, the Wimbledon draw for HGLTC will be held on the afternoon of Sunday 28th April.
Please could I ask any member who opted in but who does NOT wish to take part in the HG ballot to let me know by return email but certainly no later than 18th April. If you have already informed me, you do not need to do so again.
James has very kindly agreed to run a fun tournament (for adults) beforehand so the plan is as follows:
2.00pm to 4.00pm: tournament (prompt start required)
3.30pm to 4.30pm: tea, cakes and scones for sale - available to everyone (not just tournament players)
4.30pm to 5.30pm the Wimbledon draw and tennis themed raffle
To help plan the tournament, a sheet will be going up in the Clubhouse soon so please sign up for this ASAP. There will be a small charge for each player participating, payable on the day.
I attach the ticket allocation, prices and essential information documents. For all those members who opted in and who intend to take part in the ballot, please have a good read of these attachments before the draw. If you are one of the lucky ones, it is essential that you have an idea of what tickets you would like to purchase. (Remember there are 18 pairs of tickets which have to be allocated within a very short period so please be considerate of those who will be in the queue behind you.)
If you are an opted in member but you are unable to attend the ballot but still wish to be included then you must ask somebody to act on your behalf. Please give them your preferences so they have them to hand on the day. I am very happy to act as a proxy if needed. Please note that the allocation is for a pair of tickets and the prices are shown on the attached document.
Any junior members who were eligible to opt-in and wish to take part in the HG draw, must be accompanied by an adult. Similarly, if a junior is successful in obtaining tickets, and they are under the age of 16, they must attend the championships with an adult.
If you are one of the successful members on the day then we will issue you with a ballot winner’s slip with all the information you need to obtain your tickets. This will include details of how you pay (which has to be via the LTA’s website and with a credit card and within 14 days after our ballot).
Please contact me if you need any more information regarding the ballot. I look forward to seeing you on Sunday 28th April.
